After months of crazy wedding preparations, you are finally here with a Mrs. in your name, a husband by your side, and a passport in your hand! You deserve to have the perfect honeymoon escapade with the love of your life; long walks on the beach, toes dipped in the warm sand, seafood by the seaside — perfection!

Before you head over to your dream honeymoon destination, let us first make sure you are packing right! We’ll go over the list of things you will need in a while but first, here are a few things we think you should remember when packing for your honeymoon.

1. Personalize Your Luggage

Imagine the horror of accidentally switching luggages with a total stranger! That can be avoided by personalizing your luggage. We highly recommend including a tag with your name and contact details (which usually comes when you purchase a suitcase). You can also tie ribbons on the handles and zippers, or make things cute by adding your favorite stickers on. The goal is to make your suitcase pop out and recognizable!

2. Keep Things Light and Organized

The last thing you want on your honeymoon is to waste time trying to dig through your luggage for something that’s buried deep within your pile of clothing (and other things). Save precious time and buy packing cubes to organize your things. Put all your bottoms in one cube, your tops in another, your toiletries, your tech essentials, etc. If you can put a sticker on each bag to label them, do it!

3. Leave Room for Souvenirs

You are bound to bring home some trinkets to remember this special trip. Make sure you have space dedicated for those mementos and souvenirs so you won’t have to worry about reorganizing!

4. Prepare a List

The best way to ensure you will have everything you need for your honeymoon is to prepare a list! Having a checklist is also a highly practical approach to triple-check the stuff you have already packed without having to repack your luggage.

With that said, let us start building your honeymoon checklist! Grab a pen, grap a paper, or download our prep guide and checklist here!

Priority

Make a list of things that are compulsory! These are things that you absolutely shouldn’t be without on your honeymoon. This includes important travel documents, identification cards, credit cards, visa, passport, and etc. Make sure not to forget prescription medicines too if you have any!

Clothing

Where are you and your hubby heading off to? If you’re heading down to the tropics, it might be best to leave that cashmere behind. It’s better to pack pieces of clothes that you are sure you will use. Plan ALL of your outfits ahead. Use your itinerary as a guide to see what outfits you should be packing for. From beach wear to dinner dresses, plan them well and plan smart! It will also serve you better to choose pieces of clothing that you can easily mix and match.

If you’re coming from a cold place, you can, of course, customize your airport fashion accordingly. But that’s all your winter outfit is going to be; an airport fashion! No need to pack them if you’re heading to a warm place.

Romance

You are on your honeymoon to spend precious time together. Make the most of it by bringing romantic paraphernalia for your romantic activities. Pack up your cutest pieces of nightwear and your alluring evening dress — you can even squeeze in a few scented candles or fun card games to set the mood!

Other Essentials

What are the things that are part of your daily routine? From skincare products to gadgets you cannot live without, make sure they are prepped and packed at least the day before. Transfer your products to your travel-sized containers and make sure your rechargeables are fully charged. It would be better if you squeeze them in your hand-carry bag in case your luggage gets lost (a more common scenario than we want it to be). That way, you can head over to your hotel with all your essentials safe and sound while you wait for your luggage.

Nothing beats the peace of knowing you have everything you need especially when you are in a completely new place. Focus on relaxing and unwinding on your honeymoon by ensuring you are prepped and 200% ready before you leave for the airport!
