Imagine a world where everybody thinks, speaks, and acts the same. That would be a very boring world, wouldn’t it? You could personally meet a thousand people and nobody would leave a lasting impression — YOU wouldn’t be memorable.

The same can be said about brands. Like a person, a brand needs character — it needs a distinct personality to stand out! This is why it is crucial to have a brand voice. Having a brand voice will allow you to be recognizable to your audience and it will allow your audience to resonate with you on another level!

Once you find the brand voice that perfectly suits you, you will stop being just any other brand. You will be the brand that attracts the right audience ( your audience) . With that said, we’re sharing the 4 key types of brand voices to help you get started!

Passion

Enthusiastic and zealous. That is the tone that a passionate brand will set. They resonate with their audience by speaking from the heart, showcasing genuine emotions, and fueling the fire within. Take any well known sport and fitness brand, for example: Under Armour. They want to appeal to people with passion for fitness, sports, and motion. Their brand seeks to motivate while connecting with clientale who will find their products valueable.

Quirky

A quirky brand is not afraid to charm its audience with its uniqueness and playfulness. Think of that one friend who has all the weird quirks and surprises you in all the unexpected and lovely ways. Take inspiration from them and try to imagine them as the personification of your brand. A brand with a quirky voice has the best chance of leaving a lasting impression on its audience and as a business, THAT. MATTERS. Old Spice definitely takes the cake on this one!

Irreverent

Bold and edgy, a brand embracing irreverent humor like to challenge norms and speak their minds freely. The goal is to be fearlessly different! This might sound like a risky road to take, but that is exactly how they charm their audience! A perfect example of a brand with an irreverent voice would be Skittles. If you visit their Twitter page, you’ll see what we mean!

Authentic

A brand with an authentic brand voice cares about genuine connection. This brand values integrity and transparency. They are direct and they aim to build meaningful relationships with their audience, fostering trust by speaking with honesty in the way they engage with their audience. The brand that perfectly embodies an authentic brand voice would be Glossier and a favorite of ours, Love Offering!

Having a brand voice is definitely a great way to set your brand apart. Resonate with your ideal clients by speaking their language and you will be surprised by how much this can help you build connections and increase brand loyalty!
