How does it feel to find your soulmate? Magical? Exciting? Maybe it’s a weird kind of calm— akin to the feeling of finally finding your island after being lost in a ravenous sea. It’s a good feeling, isn’t it? A once-in-a-lifetime experience for some but an everyday occurrence for those who said “I do”

Hence why, when we find our island, we put a ring on it!!

I was lucky enough to capture the lovebirds, Alyssa and Korey, in the botanical paradise of Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida.

Aren’t they a gorgeous pair? I was extremely lucky to be the person behind the lens because their chemistry is palpable!! I can truly see that they are each other’s island–my heart is full! Ahh… the perks of being in my profession. Am I right?

Speaking of chemistry, this made it so much easier to direct them! Although they came to me with the intention of capturing this special phase in their relationship, for me, it was also an opportunity to rehearse and experiment with multiple poses for the big day! Time is limited for portraits on the wedding day, so having this engagement session was a chance to try on some angles and poses!

My heart is full of joy as a part of this celebration of milestone for our engaged couple. Tailoring this session was so much fun and it brought back a lot of memories from when Matt and I were still engaged! It was a very enthralling stage for us; a time when we were still “unofficially official” preparing to embark on a lifelong journey. And although I love calling him my husband, I miss referring to him as my fiance, especially when I take part in engagement sessions like this! The butterflies go crazy!

I’m sure Alyssa and Korey are feeling the same way I felt when it was my time! And I am so so glad they decided to do this engagement shoot so they can encapsulate this part of their beautiful partnership! Ahh! I can’t wait for their wedding day!
