I have been to a lot of picturesque spots in Florida with my camera readily packed because I know there’ll be tons of places that are worth every snap! I’ve been to weddings, I have curated bridal portraits and engagement sessions all around the state and all I can say is, there are soooo many locations to choose from!
In this guide, I gathered 10 of my favorite engagement session locations to hopefully inspire and help you choose a location for your engagement session!
No.1 St. Pete Downtown
White sand beaches, street murals, and the bustling activities from local performers. Not to mention, the rare and unique shops adorning Central Avenue! It’s definitely a location for countless photo ops! St. Pete is a gorgeous location for an engagement session!
No.2 Winthrop, Riverview
Seeing bricked buildings and classic architecture is pretty common in Winthrop! Event venues like The Regent and The Barn at Winthrop can also be found here which are perfect for stunning backdrops!
No.3 Downtown Tampa
Downtown Tampa boasts in arts and culture. It is home to many locations like Le Meridien in Tampa and the Courthouse historical landmark that serves as a window of the past. If you love history and arts, we can definitely head over to Downtown Tampa for a tailored engagement session!
No.4 Bok Tower Gardens
Towering oak trees, huge lily pads floating above the pond’s surface, gardens, and the singing tower. Bok Tower gardens has it. If you’re tired of roaming around, taking shots of every spot, you can head over to the Pinewood estate which is as equally beautiful as the landscape around it – and then take more pictures because why not?
No.5 The Don Cesar Hotel
Fronting a beautiful private beach, the “Pink Palace” stands out among the rest like an accent to its surroundings. You can definitely serve us your best poses (or I can coach you) outdoors and indoors because the hotel is a beauty in and out! If you wish to include your four-legged babies in your shots, you can definitely bring them to this pet-friendly resort!
No.6 The Ringling
Named after John Ringling, (a well-known circus showman and a frontier of arts and culture) this stunning venetian gothic architecture houses The Museum of Art, Circus Museum, the Arsolo Theater, Bayfront Gardens, and the Ca’d’Zan (the Ringling couple’s palatial mansion). The architecture is definitely one-of-a-kind but another favorite feature of mine is the huge romantic courtyard!
No.7 Hollis Garden
If you’re a fan of neoclassical architecture, you will love Hollis Garden! I originally went there after hearing about the rose garden and the butterfly trail plus the 10,000 flowers that they take pride on (understandably so), but the fountains and the grand staircase made me squeal in delight!
No.8 Lakeland, Florida
Let’s step into the time machine and travel back to the early 1900s. Oh wait– we’re in Lakeland, Florida and it’s the present! Lakeland is definitely a nesting place for historical districts like the Munn Park! You may also give Lake Mirror a visit after a day of spending hours shopping and dining in between your engagement session at the downtown area!
No.9 University of Tampa
I’ve had the honor to tailor an engagement session with my lovely clients at the University of Tampa and it was amazing! The buildings are gorgeous and so are the outdoors! I especially loved taking shots near the river! Just look at our featured lovebirds, Kiera and Desmond!
No.10 The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club
The endless photo opportunities in this luxurious historical waterfront resort is making my heart pound! Doesn’t it feel like an oasis?? I highly encourage you to take your engagement shots at The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club!
Bonus Locations:
On The Water
Beaches like Clearwater beach is a personal favorite destination of mine! It’s not just the white sand beaches that keeps me coming back but also the downtown shopping, dining, and entertainment! Clearwater is where the urban jungle and beautiful beaches collide and that, for me, is just the recipe for any photo session! There are so many beaches in Florida that can create dreamy and romantic engagement photos. In my opinion, an engagement session by the water is always top of the list when it comes to suggestions for our couples!
There are so many gems in Florida that we absolutely love! They can all serve as the perfect backdrop for your engagement session!
