Starting a business isn’t always as easy as we want it to be. It’s not just selling. It’s so much more than that! I have many friends who are interested in starting their own business, but one concern that I often hear about is the cost of hiring professionals! Hiring one is wise but there are a few things that you can do yourself! Let me share some of my favorite tools that you can use for your business!
I love Asana! It is so convenient and user-friendly! It’s so much easier for me to track my own and my team’s progress using this tool! I also personally use this tool as a to-do list because why not??
Slack is a great way to communicate with your team in a more organized fashion! Just think of it as Discord but with more business-focused functions. You can create channels here and integrate the app with other tools such as google drive, TaskUs, and the likes!
Grammarly is a must-have! When you’re starting a business, the most probable route is to go online! Whether you’re starting a website or a social media account, you are required to write either way! Take your grammar game seriously because sounding professional and cohesive to your brand helps increase your credibility!
Now let’s be honest. You are no graphic designer— but that’s okay! If you have the budget, you can definitely hire one, but if you prefer to cut down on expenditures, you can use Canva! This tool is great for small businesses because there are TONSSS of templates that you can use for your marketing materials! If you prefer to start a design from scratch, you can definitely do that too!
Let’s face it, we are not very knowledgeable in producing contracts. The thing is, as a business owner, you are going to need the use of legal documents in one way or another. It could be something about your rentals or an employment contract. Either way, you will find what you need in Docracy!
When I first started photography, I remember feeling so lost and overwhelmed when I tried Photoshop! I should have started with Lightroom! Take it as the less complex version of Photoshop. Lightroom is a photo editing software that can be used to enhance images! This is perfect for beginners or for those who are used to other photo editing tools and want to transition!
Is a culling software program that’s perfect for organizing sorting images! With Photo Mechanic, you can sort and tag your images accordingly without having to scour the ends of the earth to find the photo you’re looking for!
There’s a LOT that comes in managing a business. Let’s just say you’ll get 10x busier than usual! There’s so much that you need to handle and honestly speaking, it’s hard to manage everything at once. It’s a good thing we have Honeybook! It is a great client management tool. From Inquiries to active projects, it is so much easier to keep your client nurturing game on track in one platform!
There is definitely nothing wrong with hiring professionals for specific tasks. But the thing about startup businesses is, we can’t spend as lavishly as we want! So if there are things that you can take on, do it! You can outsource later when you already have the budget for it!
With that said, I want to help you as much as I can, especially if you’re a startup business! I’ve been there and trust me, you will need all the support you can get! Let me start by giving you a copy of our guide on how to build a brand with a purpose. You can get it here!
I truly, sincerely, wholeheartedly hope that you will achieve all your business goals!
