The sun’s embrace is warm and the waves hitting the shore are music to the ears. Ahhh… the things I would do to be there right now, to relax and be in trance at the beach! If you’re like me, who loves the wind in your hair and sand between your toes, I’m sure having a beach wedding has crossed your mind!

Let’s say your heart is truly leaning towards exchanging vows on a white sand beach with the breathtaking deep blue waters as your backdrop. Before you give it a go, let me share some tips that I have acquired from my career as a wedding photographer based in Florida ( practically beach cityyy) !

Choose Decorations And Rentals That Are Wind-friendly, What’s The Weather Like?

Destination or domestic, beaches are typically the same in terms of weather! Whatever beach you choose, there is a possibility that the weather can be windy or rainy! The ideal weather conditions for a beach wedding are sunny with a slight breeze! Am I right!? However we want to be prepared for the chance of wind and rain, it is important to choose your wedding decor wisely and be intentional in your design. As far as the weather, you want to have a plan B in place. This is a conversation that you can have with your wedding planner. They can help you navigate the best options for a plan a B! A wedding designer can assist you in what details make sense for your setting/location. Trust them! They are aware of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to designs that make sense. When you are choosing your decor pieces you want to incorporate details that are wind-proof. You can also pin down details by layering details (napkin over the menu, tucked under the plate) to keep it from dancing in the wind. We want to save dancing with the wind for the birds, waves, and our guests at the reception! The last thing we want is for things to fly away and topple over, leading to accidents, and to have guests drenched in water!

Use Colors That Pop Against The Sand & Think Of Details That Compliment Your Location

Much like the Pink Sand textured linen and Sakura linen from Olivia Jade Event Linens, coral and pink tones would be a lovely contrast from the white sand! This contrast in colors was designed and executed by MoCh’ar Events and Design, and @_zay9x! We think colors and designs like this are perfect for beach weddings. Especially with accents of wooden wicker lanterns like the one incorporated from ADR Decor in the table design. This is a great way to add details that are windproof and cohesive to the beach! We also love the crisp color and style of the chairs from Vivant Event Rentals included in this design. It was a combination that we need to see more of in beach weddings! We adored this full tablescape so much, every detail was swoon-worthy. This team definitely brought a lot to the table (pun intended) with those gorgeous tabletop details and added in pieces!

Choose florals that will not wilt from the heat

Let’s face it, is it really a wedding without the florals? I bet it just won’t sit right without the element of blooms and buds on your wedding day. Though sometimes, flowers may not fair well in high temperatures so it might be best to opt for flowers that can still look their best despite the heat! If you’re unsure about what flowers to choose, Do yourself a favor and consult with Sarah Rose Events! She did the beautiful arrangements in these photos! You could include florals that do better in the heat or opt for silk florals! Consult with a florist for the best option for your beach wedding!

The calligraphy-covered mini champagne bottle crafted by Jennifer is romantic and important in the overall design! It’s a small detail that could be included in beach weddings for its weight and space. It doesn’t easily blow away and it also adds to the table design by overcrowding the table. You could use this as a place setting for each guest with their name etched in or incorporate a few per table! The options are endless when it comes to adding in details that are like these that are both stunning and cohesive to a beach wedding. Make sure it’s gorgeous, serves a purpose, and works with a beach aesthetic.

Here is something to think bout also as you map out the perfect beach wedding! Consider having your ceremony in a secluded area. There’s just more privacy and less noise pollution because let’s admit it, we want the waves, not the sound of the car horns and huge trucks passing by! However, you also need to consider if the location you want is convenient and accessible to your guests! To be safe, consult a wedding planner who’s an expert at beach weddings! They’ll know the perfect location for you!
